Time-series: RADIALES

The RADIALES time-series has been continuously operating since 1991 as an observatory of the pelagic ecosystem in the shelf and nearby oceanic waters of NW Spain. Oceanographic (temperature, salinity, nutrients, oxygen) and plankton variables (including microbial plankton, phytoplankton, zooplankton and ichthyoplankton) are measured monthly along 5 transects located in Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria:

The Blanes Bay Microbial Observatory (BBMO) has been continuously operating since 1992 as an observatory of the pelagic ecosystem in the coastal waters of NE Spain. Oceanographic (temperature, salinity, nutrients, oxygen, solar radiation), plankton variables (including microbial plankton, phytoplankton, zooplankton and viruses), and ecosystem functioning variables (bacterial production, primary production) are measured monthly at several depths at this site located in Catalonia:
