Welcome to oglab

The Ocean Globe Laboratory @ IEO / CSIC

The og.lab research group consists of 2 senior researchers, 4 postdoctoral associates, and 3 graduate students with common interests in understanding the structure and dynamics of ecological communities, and their role in ecosystem functioning. We excel in complex data analysis, mathematical modeling, and theoretical ecology in order to address questions that arise from observing nature: How did life diversify into the millions of species that inhabit Earth today? How resilient are ecosystems and why? How do biotic interactions and abiotic factors affect the diversity and functioning of ecosystems? By addressing these questions, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the ecological and evolutionary rules governing nature, and improve our capacities to predict the future of biodiversity and ecosystems
